Apps that Every Woman Should Have
These days, there is an app for almost anything that you can imagine. If you can think of something that someone else might need or want, there’s usually an app for it. Whether you’re after a financial app, and organisational tool, or a really fun game, you can find almost anything you want on the App store (Apple) or Google Play store (Android).

However, because now there are so many apps out there, it is hard to figure out which apps are worth having on your phone, and which aren’t. There are some great apps out there, that every woman should have on her phone, and knowing which ones you should download, to suit your individual needs is important, and can make your daily life, just a little bit easier.
Â
-
Clue – An app that helps you monitor your menstrual cycle. You simply input the days that you have your period each month into the app, and based on the analysis over a few months, it begins to calculate when your next one is due. It also helps to tell you when you are most fertile, which is great for those who are planning a family. The interface of the app is also not very ‘in-your-face’ and doesn’t alert passers-by to the fact that you’re using an app to track your period, which is something that most women would like about it.

Waze – Waze is a great navigation and travel app, that allows you to find the best ‘way’ to go somewhere, based on your location and the traffic conditions at the time. It also functions like a normal map application, which shows you where a certain location is and how to get there. It also has the ability for people using the app to report accidents or hazards along the way, to notify other drivers in real time.

Venmo – Venmo is the easy way to pay and receive money from friends and family, from your online accounts from the click of a button. The app is also great for helping you split purchase fares between people, which can be difficult for most people. All you have to do is link your account to the app and you’re off. There are no fees for purchases made using Venmo, and money can be easily transfer from your Venmo account to your bank account in a matter of seconds

-
Noonlight – Formerly known as ‘SafeTrek’ this app helps you get home safely by calling the local police if you’re in danger by the click of a button. Simply open the app when you’re walking home and put your finger on the safe button. Then once you release your finger, you must put your pin in, to let the app know you’re safe. If you’re feeling unsafe, then you release the button and don’t enter your pin, and the call to police will be put out by the app to come and help you.

Duolingo – Duolingo is a free app that helps you learn a new language through fun games and activities. You can pick from over 30 different languages to learn from, and the lessons are personalised to you and your skill level. You can learn as much or as little as you want, at your own pace, and the app will help you with writing, listening, speaking and reading your chosen language. It will also track your learning progress and reward you when you make it to certain levels.

Amazon Kindle– Amazon Kindle is an app that allows you to take your books wherever you go, without the weight or hassle of carrying around an array of heavy books. You can download thousands of eBooks to read on the go from Amazon Prime or Kindle Unlimited, as well as gain access to a number of free books, just for signing up. The app is also enabled for audiobooks as well, so you can read and listen to some of you favourite titles from wherever you are in the world.

-
OPI– This app allows you to ‘try on’ your favourite OPI colours, without the hassle of putting on and taking off different shades of nail polish. Simply take a picture of your hand, and then try on the different colours from the app’s catalogue. Because the picture allows you to match the colours to your skin tone, you can get an idea of what colours suit you, and what colours don’t. The app can also show you where to buy your chosen shades based on your location, and lets you try on any newly-released shades as well before you buy them.

-
My Fitness Pal– My Fitness Pal is a fitness app that tracks your weight, nutrition, helps to count calories, and keep track of your daily exercise. It is great for those who want to lose a bit of weight, as well as those who just want to remain fit and healthy and keep track of their daily intake. The app has an inbuilt database to help you count the calories in each of your meals.
-
Instagram – Instagram is photo-sharing app that allows you to post your videos and photos for your followers to see. Because Instagram is a social application, you can connect with a lot more people in different ways than you would normally be able to. Social media apps like this are also great for businesses to advertise their goods and services, as well as connect with the people that are engaging with their businesses. Companies like The Volte use their Instagram to promote their online clothing rental business, by sharing photos of some of the clothes and accessories that you can rent on their website. Apps like Instagram are good for anyone to have, even if you aren’t big on sharing your pictures, because you can explore content from your favourite brands and companies that you can’t find anywhere else on the web.
Having these apps on your phone will help make your life a lot easier in several ways, some of them even saving you time and money. Although these apps may not benefit every woman, if you have an array of these apps on your phone you are bound to use them from time to time. Â
